I have a few updates that I figured were not long enough for their own post so I will update this post with the new material first followed by the original post. In the first piece of new news, Michael Starr of Steel Panther recently spoke and said he expects the band to release a new album by September, check out the video update from Starr:
He may be in Australia with Motley Crue and the rest of his bandmates are else where in the world, but Nikki Sixx says that there is a wealth of new material for a new Sixx AM album. Here is how Nikki described the recording process, “The way Sixx:A.M. is recording this album is we all get together and write the songs face to face and then record it in pieces. Sometimes we’re together and sometimes we’re in separate towns (and countries) since none of us live in the same city.” They say that they hope it will be released this year, but we’ll just have to wait and see. Every Sixx:A.M. album has not disappointed me yet.
So, I don’t know if you’ve heard, but Eddie Van Halen is at it again when it comes to diversifying his musical credentials. Eddie has recently worked with LL Cool J on a track on LL’s new album Authentic. The track is called We’re The Greatest and here is what LL had to say about it, “I approached this song with the utmost respect for Eddie and his fans, and became friends with him through the process. I was humbled to watch a genius at work and collaborate with such a legendary and visionary artist as Eddie Van Halen, and to bring our two worlds together was an exciting opportunity. I am thrilled he was up for the ride.” Eddie voiced his own opinion on the collaboration by saying, “The thought of me playing guitar to hip hop was definitely left of center, but I was intrigued and I agreed to meet and listen to what he had. I was not only inspired by the song I heard, but LL’s enthusiasm, his down-to-earth personality, the freedom he gave me to co-create and his willingness to, for the very first time, sing the chorus on ‘We’re The Greatest’. It was like a breath of fresh air that I needed as an artist and an individual. The diversity of the songs on this album and the other artists he has collaborated with is outstanding, appealing to multiple genres of music and maybe even creating a few of our own. I feel blessed to not only have had the opportunity to work with LL, but also to call him a great friend.” Here’s a sample of the song:
Apparently an archive of Alice Cooper goodies was robbed last year. The leather jacket from the Hey Stoopid tour and the same one that can be seen in Wayne’s World was the one stolen, but we received an update that it has since been returned. Apparently, a man who wants to remain anonymous found the jacket behind a dumpster in Culver City, California and returned to the LAPD. The jacket is on it’s way to Arizona to be with Alice. Alice can now rest easy knowing that this gem was at least returned.
Kingdom Come has a new album coming out soon that Kingdom Come fans can look forward to hearing. The band did provide a sample of a new song called God Does Not Sing Our Song and if you’re worried that it’s going to sound like Led Zeppelin, don’t fear cause it doesn’t. The new album is called Outlier and it’s due out on May 7Th in the US and Canada. Here is the sample of the song that you are all probably dying to hear:
I literally puked in my mouth when I found out that Kiss was hooking up with Hello Kitty for a new TV show called Kiss Hello Kitty. I honestly think Gene would sell his mother in order to make a few bucks. I think it’s so shameful what these guys will do and in my opinion, it’s ruining their legacy, but I guess Gene knows best.
In news that I don’t really give a crap about, but I guess it’s worth reporting that Richie Sambora has left Bon Jovi again temporarily. The reason for his departure is unknown at this time, but if I care enough in the future, I may tell you.
Since it’s April 6TH, I just weant to wish former Accept/current U.D.O frontman Udo Dirkschneider a happy 61ST birthday. Hopefully, there is many more to come.
